Concluding, very well done finale.Depiction in the series Crops and products The voice acting is excellent all round, especially from Kelly Sheridan. Dark because of Starlight Glimmer and her plan, and ambitious because of everything to do with the alternate future universes, which really fascinates and wows. A couple of issues aside, actually the story is very compelling and it continues to be the darkest and most ambitious of the three finale two parters at this point of the show and perhaps the darkest and most ambitious two parter in the show's run. The writing is mature and thought provoking, with the very psychological and chillingly manipulative dialogue for Starlight Glimmer standing out. The song is great and is a worthy addition for a season somewhat starved of original songs. The music is dynamic with the action and has an infectious groove and atmosphere. The character designs became more polished with each season and one can see the growth here. The vibrancy of the colours is still intact, as is the vivid atmosphere and the meticulously detailed backgrounds. Starlight continues to be the psychologically fascinating antagonist introduced in the Season 5 premiere and is every bit as menacing. Her chemistry with Starlight shines a lot more too, namely because there is more of it and it has real tension this time. More herself and less oblivious to what is going on with Starlight. On the other hand, Twilight is much better written in this second part. ![]() Again, the pace is a bit quick and like there was a little too much going on at times. Just didn't find it buyable that an episode that was that dark beforehand could end so neatly and felt so much like it belonged in another episode that was tonally different to here. Some people like, or do like, the ending, for me the last ten minutes were incredibly rushed and the outcome out of the blue and anti-climactic. Its biggest flaw is the Achilles heel of the whole "The Cutie Re-Mark" two parter. Namely because the second part contains the two parter's biggest flaw, the one that has garnered division amongst fans. There have been times where the second part for the 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic' two parters (both premieres and finales) has been a little better than the first part, but "The Cutie Re-Mark" is a case where the first part was superior. Part 2 of "The Cutie Re-Mark" is very nearly as good as Part 1 and is also very good. A two parter that was a strong end to a very worthwhile, solid fifth season, that started strongly but became rather hit and miss primarily in its second half (which had one of 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic's' low points but also a couple of the season's best and examples of why the show is so great and deserving of its popularity). The first part of the "The Cutie Re-Mark" two parter that concluded Season 5 was very good and nearly great, as the good things were so good and at their best brilliant. Twilight Sparkle: I don't know how important other ponies' friendships are to the future, but I can show you what the world is like without mine! Starlight Glimmer: Spare me your overblown ego! No group of friends, not even Princess Twilight's, is that important! Starlight Glimmer: Oh, next I suppose you'll tell me that the fate of all of Equestria hangs in the balance. Twilight Sparkle: Everything we do here in the past, even the smallest change, can snowball into an avalanche of trouble for the future! Twilight Sparkle: What you're doing goes way beyond cutie marks. Starlight Glimmer: If that's what it takes to keep you and your friends from getting your cutie mark connection, then I'm game! And we could be stuck doing this for all eternity. Twilight Sparkle: But you can't stop me from trying. Starlight Glimmer: Up for another race-ending fight, Twilight? ![]()
